Low Leaf a.k.a. Angelica Lopez, is the second artist to remix the experimental sound of Rōnin Arkestra. The Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and producer has spent years developing a sound she hopes voices both her connection to nature and her Filipino ancestors.

A trained classical pianist, she is probably most famous for her harp and vocal performances and productions, self released or on label Fresh Selects. Her harp and voice are both here in this remix that takes the swirling horns and free beats of the Japanese super-group into a blissful dreamscape.

Rōnin Arkestra started life with de Clive Lowe wanting to create a project with some of his favourite Japanese musicians, unaware of the sound, shape or vibe it would manifest. Reaching out to his musician friends including Sauce81, they began recording at Red Bull Studio in Tokyo and the chemistry was instant, creating an impulsive sound that blended spiritual jazz and beat sensibilities heavy on the improvisation.

Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. I have loved this record since its release, and realized I don't own it for some reason. So its time to change that. 9.5/10 honestly could become a 10/10 on an indepth vinyl relisten. angrypizza98
